ULTRA RACING Strut Bar passed the real life CRASH TEST !

My Hyundai Atos was involved in an accident on the night of the second day of Chinese New Year (19/02/2007). My car rammed into the rear end of a Toyota Vios when the driver did an emergency brake all of a sudden. I will leave it to the rest of your imagination of how the impact was like! So bad luck!

The rear end of the Toyota Vios is badly damaged and mis-aligned until the rear doors cannot be closed properly. My Atos front end also suffered damaged but luckily, thanks to ULTRA RACING 4-point front bar, it has REALLY minimize the collision impact. My Atos front windscreen IS NOT DAMAGED, the A-pillars and side lower sills ARE STILL NOT MIS-ALIGNED and both front doors CAN still function properly. Even many onlookers at the accident scene were surprised! If not because of ULTRA RACING front bar, the impact could have been worst, as the front radiator support panel, radiator and bumper frame will push further inwards causing more damage to the engine, gearbox and front suspension strut towers.

I enclosed herewith some pictures of my car after the accident. You can see how well the ULTRA RACING front bar has managed to hold up the collision impact. Although the front bar is now dented, yet there are no cracks in the welding spots. This clearly proves that ULTRA RACING products are of good quality and workmanship. I will definitely get another replacement ULTRA RACING front bar for my Atos after the workshop repair.

Proton Perdana V6 Owner

From: minzahar [mailto:minzahar@yahoo.com] Sent: Friday, March 09, 2007 3:50 PM

Hi Elson,

I am one of your many satisfied customers and I would like to say that your products really work (brilliantly), value for money and most of all, your service is professional.

As you are aware, my ride is a Perdana V6 (Enhanced 1). As many know, the previous version of Perdana would sway when you take a sharp corner and the handling is so-so. The enhanced version is much better, as I was told by one of the technical staff at Proton Edar that they have basically re-tune the rear suspension (some people say, they change the spring rate).

The result was more positive, no swaying during hard cornering but still a lot of body roll. So as the story goes, Enter Ultra Racing to the rescue....

To date, I have installed the following (in stages):-

  • Front - 3 Point Strut Bar
  • Front - 4 Point Lower Arm Bar
  • Front - Fender Bars
  • Side - Side Bars (this one really helps for a car this length)
  • Rear - Upper Tower Bar

I have also changed my front and rear anti roll bar.

The difference is simply amazing. You just have to feel it to understand the importance of a rigid chassis. I have no comments on people modifying the engine to be more powerful or changing to bigger sport rims but please remember that the bars above can SAVE your life in times of unforeseen mishaps.

If you are serious about your and your loved one safety, please do not take this lightly. Through out this journey, I (being a non-technical person) have learned a lot about the importance of a strong and rigid chassis of a car and how this will relate to better handling and in turn, safer driving. (That's why continental cars (read as expansive!) handles better and produce no creaks or sound even after many years - the answer: rigid chassis).

In conclusion, I would like to thank you for being very helpful and to Ultra Racing for coming out with the wonderful product which is competitively priced.

Yours, Hadmin Perdana V6 BGY 2662

    Perodua Kenari Owner

Wallauwehh…damn syiok man!! That is the only words came out from my mouth during the first corner I took after successfully installed this fu***ing bar. Seriously worth it even though it leave a big hole in my pocket!

    MY RIDE…

I’m using a Kenari for my ride during weekends and for the weekdays I’m driving that underpowered Ploton Wira sponsored by my “beloved” company. I love you. Muah muah muah (hopefully my GM read this article) and I don’t think he will…

    THE PROBLEM BEGUNS…

OK, let’s get back to the main topic. Anyone having or driving this Kenari/Kelisa before should understand how the driving dynamic produced by this tiny little car (but huge head room for Kenari). Its cornering ability is much lower compare to other sedan cars. Thereby its feel sucks when taking corners in a high speed even though you’re driving at 80km/h (that’s considered fast for a small car). Its feel likes you’re going to turn upside down like a turn turtle. You have to slow down to tackle corners and sometime you almost brought it to a standstill! Its all because of Kenari/Kelisa doesn’t have this rear anti-roll bar. Anyone agreed with me? Even though you have the greatest absorber and expensive sport spring fitted into your car, you won’t complete until you install this arb. (For road use it’s consider complete lorr..)…And if you’re a track/rally driver wannabe, you can go for a body stitching and a set of a roll cage. It’ll cost you thousands, dude... This thing only cost you a few hundreds but it brings wonder to your ride.

    MY HISTORY

I always dream for a better handling of my Kenari. Therefore I’ve installed a sports absorber, H&R sports spring, 4 points strut bar, 3 points fender bar and rear upper bar but none of this helped me in a quest of a true handling. Seriously I don’t like to lower my car but it is the only way to improve handling (and looks) and in the mean time you have to sacrifice comfort. In the tracks, a big YES but for a street like ours in Malaysia, I don’t think so…. Now I’d taken out my sport springs and use back my OE springs and I’m satisfied with the current setup even though I can’t deal with a sharp corner anymore…

    AND NOW…

That setup is a last week story. Now I have a new setup that makes my life cheerful when driving this Kenari. I still maintain everything except an addition of the rear anti-roll bar. After installing, you won’t feel that much different until you reach the first corner. From there you can’t stop from taking more and more corners. It’s something like a kid having a candy in hand and licks it like nobodies business. You can feel the rear end more solid than before. It’s a bit firm compare to OE ride but you won’t feel that much. The greatest feeling comes in during the high-speed corner. It’s more stable at the rear. You’ll feel more confident and relax while taking corners. But bear in mind, my experience with yours is varying. It does depend on your suspension configuration. Now I don’t have to worry about high-speed corner either a sharp corner anymore. I can still make a smile while tackling all the corners. Believe me man! So, whoever driving Kenari/Kelisa, you should give a try. Its just take around 20-30 minutes to install and the price is quite reasonable compare to other imported arb. Quality wise, honestly I am not an expert but looking at it, it is not a piece of metal that you can find in a hardware shop. It’s powder coated for rust resistant and it has a striking white color too. Don’t forget they are also giving warranty for any defect of the products. No sales talk here. I don’t earn any single cents from this. I just want to share my experience and knowledge with everyone. Too all Kenari/Kelisa drivers, Happy Driving!! Cheers!!!

Ps: I’m not good in English. This is the best I can elaborate. My English teacher ran away with her boyfriend before I finished my exam. Pity her…. should did it with me.

    Toyota AE101 Autocross Competitor

After 3 Autocrosses and some persistent agressive driving, I have to say that UR did helped a lot in my battle to reduce Understeer which is normal for FF cars. My ride is a 1993 Toyota Corolla AE101 and I have fitted a pair of Fender Bars, Rear Bar and 19mm Anti Roll Bar from UR - bought thru Stanley & HMS dealership - Good Services!. All I can say is that those UR bars will be staying there for good. Only my front strut bar is not from UR, simply becoz I used the JDM 2 Point Toyota from my first halfcut - which has been modded to be 3 points.

    How good is good?

Well let's just say that traversing at the speed limit of my 4A-GE right now is pretty much predictable and controllable - even at long sweeping corners - no sway and no understeer - REMARKABLE! So much so that the only thing that gave way right now is lack of traction from my tires to keep up with the pace.

As for low speed low gear tight turns, those UR helped me to throttle up all the way to the rev limiter without feeling like the whole car being thrown to the sideways haaa

If you feel like driving to the limits, make sure your chassis is up to it. Call Stanley and he'll tell u how to "reform your car".

I am not getting paid for this, just that a good product deserves good rating.

Subject: Testimonial of Front & Rear strut bar and Rear Anti-roll bar

I installed the above-mentioned bars during my Gerakan G2 on 27/8/05. My first impression is the bars indeed strengthen the chassis and I feel my car more solid and rigid. Not much rolling during high speed cornering as compared to before.

I ever had a test session with a part-time racer who drove my car right after the bars were installed. He did a 90 deg turning at about 80km/h. To my surprise, the car sticks on the road firmly and not much rolling in my stock Silverstone tyre. This was pretty impressive to me. I personally try and feel the grip is nice in high speed cornering and the car is stable during high speed cruising. In short, I’m one of the satisfied customers.

As stated in the subject above, I would like to share my comments on these products from Ultra Racing which installed and tested on my Gen2 during Gerakan Gen2 event. I was surprised to find the significant improvement of car handling after installed these bars.

The front and rear strut bars function as to strengthen the front and rear chasis respectively. And they are really works out. The thicker and better quality of anti-roll bar is works very well in conjunction with strut bars. The performance of these bar give the nice stability during every cornering.

I received some feedback from other members in our Gen2 club ( www.gen2club.com ). We are satisfied with the Ultra Racing products. Hopefully Ultra Racing will continue their good work to produce even better product in future. For myself, I will try on the UR fender bar someday in future.

    Thank you.

Nissan Sentra and Proton Putra Owner

    Hi Elson,

Just wanna let u know that I'm very satisfied with the performance of ur products.

My Sentra and Putra's handling improved significantly after I fixed Ultra Racing products. My Sentra has the front & back 4 point struts and fender bar.

The most significant changes in the ride of my Putra comes in after I fixed UR 19mm anti-roll bar. Just a brief history on what I've done with my Putra:

But when I was in PJ, I got to know that u do have anti-roll bar, I just can't wait to fix it. So 19mm UR ARB and upper rear bar were fixed. Drove back to Penang and the handling was superb. So, a a couple of days later, I was back in PJ and that's the time I believe that handling can be further improved when I fix UR 4 point front sruts and 3 point rear struts.

Now, I'm really confidence about the handling of my Putra. Oh yes, I have 2 more things to buy from u...lower arm bar and UR roll cage (when u have it). Do keep in touch with me and keep me d on the new products in the future.

    Toyota AE82 Owner

Mine is AE82 chassis...powered by silvertop.

Long heard of Ultra racing bars...Got a fren with Wira 1.8 LE fitted with fender, room and strut bar(2 points). handling, very good. Then he fitted his wife's Kelisa with the same products... damn they are good!

My story.. last Friday went to Ultra Racing about 10 am. Long journey from Paka, Terengganu ..Met with Calvin. Told my story (hehe..) wanted a ride that can do corners more than decent speed but not hantam one (tarak berani woo...) Immediately he say put fender bars... OK i said , so the foreman/designer (heheh) opened up my fenders. Tried AE 86 fender bar, but could not fit. So need to custom made . 1 day they took to design and built for me. Also I custom build a 4 point strut bar (the bars are yet to be fitted- Calvin need to send for powder coating)

Lastly , rear tower bar , i was lucky coz could use AE101.

In the evening when the fender bars and rear tower bars fitted. Like Chu said, even when reversing the car out from workshop already feel the difference.

Then the cornering ... yummy... even i am using 15" 55 series tyres, the car feels more controllable.

During the journey back to T'ganu...the car could maintain 130-140 kph all the way at LPT , which was before will make me very tired. Very relaxing, very confident and solid. I'm out of words...

Now i' looking forward for the front strut bars..

Thank you to Ultra Racing for the excellent products.

Also for Calvin which was with me all the way thru the day at the shop. Even kindly offered me to jalan2 with him to sweep my boredom of waiting.

    Good stuff, and they works.

    Perodua Kancil Owner

From the first moment i set foot in Malaysia , i have fallen in love with the Kancil. Some people might call me weird but that is just the way i am, i just love the size of that car. Hence i got myself one of them.

The first issue i noticed that plagues the car is the fact that it handles like a wooden cart (seriously it does). It understeers s**tloads, and cornering at high speeds basically made me feel like i am gambling with my life at stake...

Time pass by and i came across ultraRacing. At first i thought i would try out the rear strutbar for kancil, as i was informed that it would correct the understeer for kancil.. It certainly was not just another marketing gimmick, since the bar did what it is supposed to do. During cornering, the rear end felt much more solid, boosting my confidence when cornering with my beloved kancil. Moreover, during straight runs, rear end also felt more firmly attached to the ground...

The next step that i took was through the installation of the kancil multipoint strutbar , and the three point fenderbars, said to improve my cornering ability, and traction of front tires. Having invested in multiple products, i figured that i should go to a place where i can fully test the ability of the bars. Since i do not know many roads in KL, i went to genting to test out my car. All i can say is that i was impressed, it was a whole different experience to the first time i went to genting, when i did not have any of my bars installed, Steering reaction is much improved, front and rear traction was superb compared to the original condition... VERY Impressed.. up to the point i went pass a police patrol car whilst doing a high speed cornering without even noticing...

Although i am already satisfied with the current handling characteristic of my car, i am still thinking of getting the anti roll bar for the kancil, since the amount of body roll i experience during high speed cornering is just absurd that sometimes i get tired from having resist the body roll.. The chance came when Ultra racing introduced a new ARB for kancil, which was a snap to install (seriously, i just lit up a cigarette and took a few drag and the technician was done installing, I was not even finished with my cig!). As soon as i get into a corner, i already felt the effect. there was little to none body roll! At high speed, the ARB could still show its effect, as now i am going faster and faster when cornering since it is more painless to corner at higher speeds, as the body roll effect is not there to bother me any longer. Although when i go too fast, then body roll would still plague the car, but the car is not designed to maintain crazy speeds anyways..

All in all, i am a very satisfied user of ultraracing bars. Through the acquiring of Multipoint front strubar, fenderbars, rear strutbar, and anti roll bar from Ultraracing, my driving experience with my car has been greatly improved. Although i am still using factory suspension and tires setup. Very recommended for Kancil and other cars owners... Keep up the good work Ultra Racing!.
